The Rainbow Connection
Just a few days after I spotted my birthday rainbow hovering over Georgetown, I headed out of town to Indianapolis, which was green and fun and family-licious. My flight on the way back was delayed an hour or so due to heavy storms in D.C., and by the time we headed into Reagan National (a.k.a. Best. Airport. Ever!… especially if you are sitting on the side of the plane with a view of the monuments), the storms were moving out and an amazing rainbow was in their place.
From the air, the rainbow seemed to completely surround us in a circle. I thought nothing could top that, but on the ground, the view was of a perfect, unbroken arc. (Um… Which I'm sure has a technical term, but I'm a writer, not a prism-ologist.) It made all that time sitting on the tarmac completely tolerable. Well, that and the fact that I had two seats to myself.
